 | The company was officially formed back in 1930 by Mr. R. K. Haskew. In the 20's he operated a cedar sawmill in the McMinnville, Tennessee area. Then he moved to Jackson, Tennessee where he purchased a broom handle factory.
In the late 20's he opened a furniture plant in West Virginia, operated it for a few years |
and then closed it and liquidated the machinery. Having seen some success with selling this equipment, he realized that there was a strong demand for used woodworking machinery and he moved to Chattanooga to open a used machinery dealership.
In 1952 his son-in-law Mr. Louis Brooks took over the helm as president and continued in this capacity until his retirement in 1988. This was a period of strong growth for the company and the nation as a whole, coming out of World War II.
His son Randy Brooks, after working in the shop for 18 years, bought the company from his father in 1988, and immediately chartered a course toward "Setting the Standard for First-Class Rebuilding".
This goal, through hard work and strong leadership, was realized and remains in effect this day...a Haskew remanufactured machine is the very best that money can buy.
In the early-to-mid 90’s, drawing upon the experience of seeing weaknesses common to various machines, the company began to design improvements and to listen attentively to customer needs.
This eventually led to the manufacture of the company's own line of machinery known as HASKO "Heavy Builts" specializing in flooring equipment.
Effective January 1, 2003, the company name officially changed to HASKO in order to reflect the dedication and focus toward its commitment to manufacturing new flooring and woodworking machinery. In June 2004 the company relocated to a modern, efficient plant in Soddy Daisy, Tennessee.
Today, HASKO is the undisputed manufacturer of "The World's Most Productive Flooring Machinery" in its' HASKO "Heavy Builts" and continues to provide first-class rebuilds, parts, custom design, and machine shop services to the woodworking industry at large.
