Updated Guarding And Safety Circuitry System:

The Hasko FSM and FSP now incorporate a "state of the art" Guarding and Safety Circuitry System designed to provide a very high level of safety for your operators without sacrificing production.

The FSM control package incorporates circuitry for the five cutterheads utilizing two safety rated relays per cutter head unit wired in compliance with ANSI B11.19 and OSHA 1910.147 regarding Risk Category 3 and "Alternative measures" where safe jam clearing is required.

The use of dual channel safety relays and expansion modules coordinated with zero speed sensors for all cutter heads in conjunction with solenoid activated access door locking switches, prevent operator access to dangerous areas while the machine is running and during orderly shutdown.

These upgrades include:
  • Addition or alteration of many point-of-contact guards
  • A zero motion detector which prevents the front access panels from being opened until all rotating parts of the machine are completely stopped
  • Installation of a small jib crane to facilitate the safe handling of cutter heads
  • Hinged guard covering front access to the center match roll and side head cutter exposures
  • 10" extension for the rear or right side head vertical adjustment
  • Barrier guards have been added at two points at the rear of the machine. Each guard is permanently mounted to the floor and the machine is equipped with hinged access doors.

All of the foregoing parts are field-installable for all existing FSM and FSP models. Contact us at 423-648-5200 for further information.

    Scanning Technology:

Hasko Machines and Aircle Tech have partnered in a dedicated commitment to improve the efficiency and raw material yield of flooring manufacturers through the specific tailoring of computer analysis to scanning systems for board ripping and defecting.

Emphasis will be placed upon developing new technologies that will enable the flooring industry to produce more product---with less material---with fewer people---and with enhanced operator safety.

Aircle Tech (Dan Hamby, founder & CEO) is a North Carolina product development company specializing in mechanical designs and computer analysis systems. Dan's 33 years of experience with computers, video, laser, and special proprietary scanning sensors has led to numerous patents and innovative designs. Formerly as V.P. of Research and Development with related organizations, he developed the first video based rip optimizer (unveiled at the 1990 IWF show) and he also developed the first board optimizer utilizing video analysis to optimize for both rip & cut-off at the same time.

As a result of this combined alliance, the Hasko HSLS high speed laser scanner has been in production for several years, and two new prototype machines are presently being completed in the Hasko factory---the HSMS defecting saw and SRMA shifting saw gang rip.
